[workshop] HERRIGINTZA- perspectives for a new era

We will discuss about the contribution of the Herrigintza to this new phase

We want to use this workshop to take a first step to define the vision and mission of Herrigintza in this new phase, we will work further on this on the following months. This will ask us to strengthen a
powerful discourse regarding Herrigintza, that discourse would confirm the main axis of Sortu’s political identity. We will also work to define as much as possible the role of the Basque le‑, Sortu, regarding Herrigintza.

This workshop wants to discuss also the main functions of herrigintza until 2020. When we say functions, we mean specific initiatives, specific projects. Defining those working lines, we want to define herrigintza’s strategic scope, defining herrintza’s position in the development of the political plan.

In our opinion Sortu’s political identity must have three main components. Sortu’s activist should have three main characteristis: 1) Ideological formation and strategic perspective. 2) Attitude for political activism ·) Intutition for Herrigintza. That what we mean when we say that we must redifene our political identity or when we say that we must leave behind a political culture based on resistance and adopt a political culture based on our project, we mean that we must generate such a political community. Herrigintza has been one of the main characteristics of the Basque Abertzale Le‑, and that is something we must take in our new political culture and we must strenghten in the new political phase. This workshop is meant to be a stepping stone on that path.

PROGRAMME

  1. What to do and how to do it in our village and neighbourhoods? Presentation of 20 inspiring projects running nowadays in the Basque Country.
  2. Roundtable: Perspectives for Herrigintza in a new era. Raul Zelik (Die Linke executive board) discusion about his lat book the Abertzale Left was right
  3. Presentation of the Space of Experiences initiative (A project to share different initiatives between villages).
  4. Presentation of the initiative to recover the memory of 40 years of Herrigintza and discussing possible events and actions
